The Cloudboom Strike 2 is On's marathon racer, co-created with athletes and built around the brand's CloudTec Sphere cushioning system. Sphere leaves thin gaps between the forefoot and midfoot so the foam can shift and flex in more than one direction, which On says produces a smoother, more responsive feel at speed. A carbon Speedboard supplies propulsion, Helion HF hyper foam handles energy return, and the top midsole layer is removable, letting the ride be softened or firmed. The upper is an adaptable open weave chosen for low weight and airflow, over a high-grip rubber outsole. On lists a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop (the lowest across this run of releases), about 191 grams, and production in Vietnam.
