Few patterns belong to a shoe company as completely as this one does, and here it arrives in its most familiar form. Black and white squares cover the canvas quarter panel and collar area, and the white leather stripe cuts through the print at the midfoot, interrupting the grid rather than sitting beside it. The toe, heel and eyestay are overlaid in Off-White suede, a shade warmer than the check's white squares, which gives the shoe two different whites working against each other.
Below the upper sits a white vulcanised midsole, edged by a black foxing strip, while the Off The Wall licence plate at the heel is picked out in red, the only other colour anywhere on the pair.
