Putting a hot red against a clean blue is a deliberately awkward pairing, and that is what makes this one interesting. Chili Pepper takes one set of panels, True Blue takes the other, and the leather sidestripe sits on the seam between them so the shoe changes character depending on which side you look at. There is no third colour brought in to soften the meeting point, which keeps it sharper than most multi-tone versions of the model.
It was priced at $70 with the ComfyCush build underneath, the softer footbed and interior Vans developed to make its flat classics friendlier for long days on foot.
