Colorblock is the adidas term for a run of NMD_R1 pairs built on one base colour with contrasting panels dropped in at fixed points, and this February 2019 version is the black and neon reading. The knit textile upper is Core Black throughout, including the taped Three Stripes on the sidewall, so the branding registers as texture rather than a graphic. Against that, bright solar green patches sit at the toe and at the heel, deliberately placed at the two spots the eye tracks first on a low-top runner.
The effect is a shoe that looks monochrome from directly side-on and two-tone from any angle where the toe or heel catches light. Underfoot, the full-length Boost unit is white and the stability inserts moulded into its sidewall are black, echoing the upper instead of the accent colour. The pair released at $130, the standard price for the knit build in 2019, and kept the usual segmented rubber outsole. A Trefoil badge at the heel and a branded pull tab are the only other markings.
