The Tri-Color idea is simple and old: give each of the three stripes its own colour so the branding becomes the graphic. On a black mesh upper that reads clearly, because the stripes are the only interruption on an otherwise uniform surface. Collegiate Royal and Footwear White supply the contrast against the Core Black ground, and the mesh is a single piece, so nothing else divides the sidewall.
Everything beyond that leans on adidas Originals house detailing rather than added colour: a Trefoil patch on the tongue, a badge at the heel, and a pull tab printed with the brand name in more than one language. The midsole is the usual full-length Boost with stability inserts, though here they are finished in two tones rather than one, echoing the multi-colour logic of the stripes above. At $200 this sat among the more expensive pairs the model saw in 2019, well over the $130 mesh standard, and it released on June 15 that year. A rubber outsole completes it.
