About the Recouture x adidas Campus 80 "Black"

RECOUTURE brought three Campus 80 colorways into its 2020 run for adidas Consortium, each one deconstructed as if the shoe had been rebuilt out of sequence, and this Black pair leans hardest into that idea with the darkest palette of the three. Black suede covers most of the upper, but chalk white and dark blue break the surface through the Three-Stripes and paneling rather than sitting as clean blocks of color. On the lateral side, the stripes float free of their usual placement and black suede stretches down into the midsole.

The medial side runs the opposite trick: the eyestay runs long and laps over the tongue, itself cut deep enough to wrap the collar the way it does across the whole RECOUTURE run. An off-white rubber cupsole underneath keeps the sole unaffected by the reconstruction happening above it. It released November 21, 2020 at $120, the same date and price as its Chalk White and Dark Blue companions.
