Shun Hirose runs RECOUTURE, a Tokyo workshop that repairs and reconstructs shoes, and in 2020 it turned that process into a run of Campus 80 makeups built around what a shoe would look like if put back together in the wrong order. This Chalk White version keeps the palette close to monochrome, an off-white suede covering most of the upper. The Three-Stripes break from their usual straight run across the sidewall, floating instead, while suede paneling extends from the upper down toward the sole on that same side.
On the opposite side, the eyestay and its stitching stretch past their normal boundary and lap onto the tongue itself, which is cut long enough to wrap over the collar. A grey leather heel tab is one of the few unbroken details, appearing across the run of 2020 RECOUTURE colorways regardless of upper color. It released November 21, 2020 at $120, priced above a standard Campus 80s to reflect the extra construction involved.
