Turning a running shoe into a sandal means removing most of the upper and keeping only the parts that hold the foot, and that is what this does. The Primeknit is cut back into strapping in Ash Pearl, a pale grey with a pearlescent cast, with Signal Orange for the bright accents and Core Black anchoring the base. The full-length Boost midsole stays, so the cushioning is a running shoe's rather than a sandal's.
Stella McCartney has run a joint venture line with adidas since September 2004, built around women's sport and known for refusing leather and other animal materials. That line has repeatedly taken the brand's performance models apart and rebuilt them, and this March 10, 2022 release is one of the more literal examples. Retail was $230, which put it above almost every standard UltraBoost of the period, the usual gap between the designer line and the general catalogue.
