The twenty-third Nimbus is the last of the pre-Blast era, the final version before ASICS replaced the midsole compound entirely. Its changes were small and aimed at feel: more GEL in the rearfoot for impact, and a midsole perforated with a large number of small holes to soften the foam without removing it.
The effect was a shoe that testers described as softer and steadier than the twenty-second at easy paces, still built around FlyteFoam Propel and still clearly a protection-first trainer. Stability came from geometry and a wide platform rather than any medial post, which is what separates the Nimbus from the GT-2000 and the Kayano.
Black with electric red is the restrained end of the range. The launch group ran through blues and brighter tones, and this one keeps the accent narrow. Price stayed at $150, unchanged from the two versions before it.
