The Trabuco has been the all-round trail shoe in the ASICS range for years: not the lightest, not the most technical, but the one meant to handle everything from fire road to rock. The eleventh version reworked the parts that matter most off-road. The ASICSGRIP outsole was redesigned with smaller, more numerous triangular lugs replacing the older elongated directional pattern, arranged to bite in any direction and stepped up slightly at the heel for steep descents. Not everyone was convinced: some testers preferred the previous layout going downhill. The rock plate was upgraded too, thin and flexible enough to stay out of the way while stopping sharp debris from reaching the foot, and the stack rose slightly. Golden yellow with black is the treatment trail shoes usually get for a reason: bright enough to find in a pile of gear, dark enough on the panels that take the mud.
