Overpronation is the reason this shoe exists. The premise behind decades of stability design is that a foot rolling too far inward should be resisted, usually by a denser foam wedge on the inner side of the midsole. ASICS branded its version Duomax and fitted it to every GT-2000 through the series' first decade. By the tenth edition the brand had stopped naming it in marketing, and reviewers taking the shoe apart described a milder build that leans on platform width and midsole shape rather than a blocking wedge. The line itself dates to 2012, when ASICS retired the GT-2100 numbering and started counting again. This is the 2E fitting, in the same deep blue the standard-width version wore. Runners who need extra room normally get a narrower slice of any season's colour range, so a palette shared across widths is worth noting.
