Support used to be a lump of firmer foam. For most of three decades the Kayano held the arch with a denser wedge on the inner side, branded Duomax, and the shoe was judged on how firmly it pushed back. That approach gave way over the last few generations to structural solutions that do the same job without a foam block: bridges, sidewalls and moulded shapes that resist collapse at the point where it happens. LITETRUSS is the version fitted here, a rigid element through the arch and inner heel rather than a wedge underfoot, paired with FlyteFoam Blast Plus so the cushioning stays soft where the structure is not working. That combination is what lets a stability shoe feel like a normal trainer, which was the direction the whole category was heading.
