Picante red fills most of the leather upper, guava ice softens the wavy side panels, and white keeps the mudguard and laces neutral, a warm-toned pairing brighter than the shoe's usual palette. The hidden lacing system sits under the tongue as usual, and reflective piping traces the same wavy lines that wrap every Air Max 97, giving the shoe its signature ripple silhouette even in the brighter colors.
Nike released the pair July 22, 2023 at $175, built on the standard white midsole with a visible Air unit that runs the length of the sole, and a waffle-traction rubber outsole. The red-forward palette is a general colorway rather than a tied collaboration or special edition, applied over the leather build Nike uses across most Air Max 97 releases.
