About the Nike Air Max 97 TD "Metallic Gold" 2023

Metallic gold leather covers the toddler-sized Air Max 97, paired with black overlays, white underlays and university red hits on the heel and outsole. The wavy reflective piping and concealed lacing loops that shaped the shoe's 1997 debut carry over intact, scaled down for the smallest sizes in Nike's lineup. A full-length visible Air unit runs heel to toe beneath the sole, the detail that made the original running shoe stand apart when it launched.

Nike designer Christian Tresser drew up the Air Max 97 as a running shoe in 1997, and the model has since spread across nearly every size tier it offers, from grade school and preschool builds down to toddlers. This gold colourway released October 23, 2023 at $100, a toddler price point well under the adult retail the silhouette usually commands. The leather build and metallic finish echo the shoe's original 'Silver Bullet' material choices without repeating that colour scheme outright.
