About the Nike Patta x Air Max 1 Premium "Chlorophyll" 2009

Patta opened in Amsterdam in 2004 and spent its first years as a shop before it became a label in its own right. Its fifth anniversary was marked with a group of five Air Max 1s, and that set is a large part of why the store's name carries the weight it does; the shoes were built from materials the model had rarely worn, denim, corduroy, nubuck and mesh combined in ways that read closer to clothing than to sportswear. This one splits the upper across nubuck, denim and mesh in whites and greys, with a bright chlorophyll green running through the accents. Nike revisited the same colourway years later for another anniversary, which is the clearest measure of how the original landed. The Air Max 1 itself dates to 1987, the first Nike shoe built to show its Air unit.
