Paul George's signature line and his time in Los Angeles never quite lined up. Nike gave him a shoe in 2017, the year he was traded out of Indiana to Oklahoma City after seven seasons with the Pacers; the Clippers deal came two years later, on 10 July 2019, sending him to Los Angeles in a trade that also cleared the way for the club to sign Kawhi Leonard.
So a Clippers colorway on the fifth model is a shoe catching up with a career. George grew up in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles, which makes this a more local make-up than most club treatments manage.
The EP designation is the practical part: a build sold into Asia with harder-wearing outsole rubber, made for outdoor courts rather than a polished NBA floor. Under the upper sits a full-length Air unit stitched directly to it, the change that defined the fifth shoe. It released in October 2021 at $110, which by then was the line's fixed price.
