Cool and slightly grey, Frosty Green covers the entire upper on this Classic 21, with white on the sole and the Formstrip. The pair came out on August 27, 2021 at 70 dollars, in a year when Puma ran several greens through the model. Temperature is what separates this one from the rest of them: where the darker forest tones read as earthy, this shade sits closer to sage and works against grey and navy as easily as against indigo.
That range is the practical case for the colour. The shape needs no introduction, having been in production since 1968 and popular enough that Puma gave Walt Frazier a signature basketball model in 1973 built on the same brushed leather formula. What has changed across that span is the number of colours the material gets dyed in, and a cool green is one of the few that has never been overexposed.
