Asics rebuilt the way this shoe supports a foot in its tenth version. The rigid plastic shank on the outsole and the density wedge in the medial sidewall (the hardware stability shoes had used for decades) were both dropped, replaced by a system the company calls Litetruss, in which the outsole itself curls slightly upward beneath the inside of the arch. The correction happens through geometry rather than through a block of firmer material, which lets the shoe flex and land more softly than its predecessors did. The midsole compound changed too, moving to a softer, springier foam that returns more energy than the version before while weighing less, which allowed a little extra stack height. Reviewers generally read the tenth as the point where the model stopped feeling like a corrective device and started behaving like an ordinary daily trainer that happens to be supportive. This blue pair sits on a knit upper with white through the midsole, released in the summer of 2022. It occupies the middle rung of the brand's stability range: above the entry model, below the flagship.
