What separates one Novablast from the next is usually the foam, and the third generation is where the line moved onto FF Blast Plus. ASICS positions that compound as the softer, lighter branch of the FlyteFoam family (the same material it puts into cushioned trainers like the GEL-Nimbus and GEL-Kayano) in place of the original FF Blast.
The geometry stayed. The concave, trampoline-derived midsole that defined the shoe at its 2020 launch carries through, and so does the full-length foam construction that replaced the gel inserts ASICS uses elsewhere in its running line. The result is the same argument as before, made with a softer material: a daily trainer with enough rebound to make an easy run feel quick.
FlyteFoam as a platform goes back to 2016, developed at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science in Kobe. Cream and Fawn is an unusually restrained palette for a line that launched on bright colour, and it leaves the sculpted midsole sidewall doing the visual work.
