The GEL-Nimbus Lite exists to answer a narrower question than the shoe it is named after: how much of a maximum-cushion trainer can be built from recycled and plant-derived material without the ride falling apart. The third version is the clearest version of that answer. Its upper mesh is at least 60% recycled content, and the FlyteFoam midsole is formed with organically derived material rather than conventional petrochemical foam alone, with a lower-impact dyeing process applied across the shoe.
The engineering follows from those constraints. There is no plastic Trusstic shank and no dual-density stability element; the midsole is a single block of softer FlyteFoam, and what stability the shoe has comes from geometry: a full ground-contact outsole and flaring at the sole edges rather than a firm post. It ends up around an ounce lighter than the standard Nimbus of the same period.
This pair runs a muted green through the mesh with a red-orange accent on the branding.
