The ninth GT-2000 is a good illustration of how far the line sits from a marketing exercise. Its upper is a single piece of engineered mesh with no-sew overlays rather than stitched panels, a construction chosen to cut weight and irritation points while adding structure through the arch. Underneath, FlyteFoam handles cushioning and a visible GEL unit sits in the heel to take the impact of a heel strike.
All of that is aimed at the same job the line has had since it was still called the 2100 series: enough guidance for a runner who rolls inward, on a shoe that can absorb daily training volume. It is not a racing platform and does not pretend to be one.
Carrier Grey is the neutral choice in that year's range, the version that reads as equipment rather than clothing. It shipped in autumn 2020 at a hundred and twenty dollars, before the increases that followed on the tenth and eleventh editions.
